Formula One: The Season ahead

With the Formula season round the corner, F1 fanatics are eagerly awaiting for the five red lights to off in Australia to mark the beginning of the F1 season.

Kimi Raikonnen, the world champion last year is beaming with confidence of repeating history. Teammate Massa who has successfully handled the job in the team as the number two driver should be aspiring for something better this season than just slaking the team. But in all Ferrari are poised to once again clinch the Constructors Championship this year. With the two drivers getting on well what more can Jean Todt aks for! And how can we forget the newsmaker of 2007 Fernando Alonso. After the tussle with rookie Lewis Hamilton in McLaren, Alonso’s decision to return to Renault has brought new life into the team and especially Flavie Briatorie. And likely Renault would be having a better car this season. And coming to Mclaren, with two new and energetic drivers in the team, Ronn Dennis should be praying that there wouldn’t be any scandals or spying this season that cost McLaren a whopping sum last year. Lewis Hamilton who made history in his debut season last year is all set to make more podium finishes and it doesn’t seem tough this time given the fact that he’s earned a lot of experience last year. Good luck Lewis…

But amidst all this the hottest news in the pi garages of the teams is Force India. Liquor Baron Vijay Mallya who is spearheading the Force India is carrying a billion dreams with him and this seemed to have spread a new enthusiasm among F1 fans in India who till now had no other option but to support the prancing horse, the tristars and others. Force F1 is all set to change the F1 scenario in the country.

So with only 8 days left, people all the world are awaiting to hear the noises of the V8’s in the track….

IMS Quiz Belgaum Round: A TOTAL MENACE, CHOAS

The much hyped undergraduate quiz was an event that terribly suffered from lack of proper management. I don’t know about other places but the one that was in Belgaum in JNMC campus was a total menace. Students from colleges in Hubli, Dharwad and Belgaum had attended the quiz. KSRTC was kind enough to provide bus service from various places in Hubli, Dharwad. But reaching there we found a whole crowd standing outside the Jirge Sabha Bhavan jostling to get inside. We also joined the crowd in order to get inside. But the authorities of IMS were acting like hooligans and one of them pushed me so hard that I just managed to find my balance. And once inside the auditorium was looking like a fish market. The quiz which was scheduled to begin at 12.30p.m began somewhere around 2.00p.m. And the one who was making announcements there was speaking as though we were there to attend a charity program. He said “You should be thankful and appreciate the fact that we are trying to accommodate so many of you in this hall!.” I was frowned to hear this kind of statement. Enraged students were throwing paper rockets at the stage. And suddenly all the fans in the hall were switched off. On asking the IMS authorities to switch on them we never got a response. It was like a punishment for all of us with the temperatures soaring inside the hall. We were also bored for about two hours by showing the ads of the sponsors again and again on the screen. All in all the quiz was a total failure when it comes to the management of the event. If IMS couldn’t handle so much students then it shouldn’t have given so many admit cards to all colleges (One could also download the same from their website) and wasted the time of so many students or so many smarties as IMS puts it!!!!
